Who Can Benefit from an Evaluation?

Our evaluations provide clarity for a wide range of individuals, including:

  • Individuals seeking formal identification or an "official" diagnosis.
  • Those who suspect they may have autism or ADHD and want clarity and understanding.
  • People seeking a written report with recommendations for support and accommodations.
  • Ages 6 to adult.

Why Our Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach Matters

Our evaluations are:

  • Healing-centered: We prioritize your well-being and create a safe and supportive environment.
  • Gender-inclusive: We recognize and affirm the experiences of all genders.
  • Non-pathologizing: We view neurodiversity as a natural variation, not a deficit.
  • Rooted in the neurodiversity paradigm: We embrace the strengths and unique perspectives associated with autism and ADHD.

Autism Evaluations Using MIGDAS-2 and ADOS-2

At Creekside Therapeutics, we offer comprehensive autism evaluations using evidence-informed assessment tools such as the MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing Autism Spectrum, Second Edition) and the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) when clinically appropriate.

Autism evaluations are not just about checking boxes — they are about understanding how a person experiences the world, processes information, communicates, and regulates sensory and emotional input. Our assessment process integrates standardized tools with a detailed developmental history and clinical interview to provide a thoughtful, individualized diagnostic picture.

What is the MIGDAS-2?

The MIGDAS-2 is a qualitative, sensory-based autism assessment framework that helps clinicians understand how autistic traits show up in everyday life. Rather than focusing only on deficits, MIGDAS-2 explores areas such as:

  • sensory processing and regulation
  • social communication style
  • interests and attention patterns
  • cognitive processing and problem solving
  • daily functioning and energy use

The MIGDAS-2 includes different versions designed for children, adolescents, and adults, and we always administer the age-appropriate format to ensure the assessment reflects the individual’s developmental stage and lived experience.

This approach is particularly helpful for individuals who may have masked or adapted their autistic traits over time, including many late-identified autistic adults.

What is the ADOS-2?

The ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) is a structured observational assessment widely considered one of the gold-standard tools used in autism evaluations. It involves conversational and interactive activities designed to help clinicians observe social communication, interaction patterns, and behavioral characteristics associated with autism.

The ADOS-2 includes multiple modules designed for different ages and language levels, and we administer the module that best matches the individual’s developmental and communication profile. The ADOS-2 is used when clinically appropriate and interpreted within the broader context of developmental history and other assessment measures.

Our Evaluation Approach

Autism evaluations at Creekside typically include:

  • a detailed developmental and psychosocial history
  • structured clinical interview
  • MIGDAS-2 assessment using the appropriate age version
  • ADOS-2 observational assessment using the appropriate module (when indicated)
  • standardized screening measures
  • diagnostic feedback and written report
  • personalized recommendations and resources

Our goal is to provide clear diagnostic insight while honoring neurodiversity and the lived experiences of autistic individuals.

What to Expect: Our Collaborative Assessment Process
